Korean Air taps Accelya amid retail strategy remodel

Korean Air has partnered with Accelya Solutions India to enable the airline to take control of how it sells and engages with its customers.

The partnership is also intended to further innovate Korean Air’s customer experience with the deployment of Accelya’s FLX Platform – a software as a service (SaaS) platform that supports open, flexible, and pro-airline retailing solutions for passenger and cargo systems.

The Accelya platform combines the power of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and the latest advanced technologies to deliver scalability and reliability, while enabling airlines to efficiently present millions of retail offers across all channels.

Korean Air will integrate Accelya’s NDC (new distribution capability) and the FLX-Merchandizing module, to deliver personalisation and the most relevant offers to customers.

Accelya’s NDC offering, a core enabler of airline-retail agency connectivity, links airlines with over 50,000 travel agents including the world’s largest online travel agents and travel management companies.

Accelya’s NDC capabilities promise improved customer servicing, more ancillary sales and the ability for customers and airlines to benefit from much richer offers.

“The exhaustive RFP process has highlighted Accelya’s technological expertise and flexibility,” said Yoo Tae Jung, managing VP and NDC platform director at Korean Air, adding that the partneship is a key step in reshaping their retailing strategy.

Sam Gilliland, CEO of Accelya, said the deployment of their platform will provide Korean Air with a clear pathway towards offer and order transformation.
