Sonak Group, the Philippines-based importer, distributor and retailer of sporting goods across Southeast Asia, is using Salesforce company MuleSoft to transform its retail platform into one where brands and customers are connected and empowered across multiple sales channels.
With MuleSoft, Sonak’s new digital infrastructure has enabled the company to advance with new offerings and automations.
Established in 1966, Sonak has expanded its operations all over the Philippines and in Singapore, supplying sporting goods and equipment from brands like Molten, Mikasa, Asics, and Onitsuka Tiger.
Sonak has engaged with MuleSoft’s Professional Services team at the onset of their digital transformation journey as their trusted technology partner and advisor. The brand has been working with MuleSoft since 2019 to revamp their legacy systems into a full-scale digital infrastructure.
Their goal was to provide customers with a world-class retail system including the ability to launch and run multiple e-commerce platforms. Using data and analytics, Sonak also aims to empower their store team with a single source of truth about their customers.
Since early 2022, new integrations to their digital infrastructure include an automated inventory reconciliation system, a sales integration for posting online and offline sales in their ERP, and an HR management solution linked to the company’s biometric timekeeping systems. The versatile digital infrastructure, powered by APIs, allows Sonak to expand quickly into new markets and partnerships, as the need arises.
“In today’s fast-evolving digital environment, customer demands are constantly changing,” said Kabir Buxani, CTO of Sonak Group. “Real-time APIs and data connectivity are essential in ensuring we can adapt to these changes, and deliver on customer expectations quickly
“MuleSoft enterprise integration solutions have enabled us to implement technologies like an omnichannel eCommerce platform and a multi-brand loyalty programme with these objectives in mind,” said Buxani.
Brian Kealey, VP and General Manager for MuleSoft Asia, said that with an API-led approach, companies can deliver more agile and resilient business outcomes by creating packaged capabilities in a modern API that can be re-organised rapidly.
“This approach has allowed Sonak and many others to change their processes, technologies and systems as needed,” said Kealey.
