Sime Darby, the Malaysian conglomerate and multinational firm with reach across Asia-Pacific, has deployed on Platform Equinix and leveraged Network Edge to digitally transform its infrastructure across the region.
“We are hopeful that the collaboration with Equinix will help us seamlessly bridge the distance between our distributed digital infrastructure throughout the region and improve agility with accelerated deployment,” said Goh Hai Peow, Sime Darby’s group chief information and digital officer.
Equinix supports Sime Darby through the deployment in its Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres in Asia-Pacific.
With the support from Equinix’s technology partner Coevolve, Sime Darby also adopts Equinix’s Network Edge on Equinix Fabric to achieve secure and stable SD-WAN integration across markets.
This deployment allows Sime Darby Berhad to rapidly scale and adapt to external factors by deploying digital infrastructure as needed, eliminating prior systems that required shipment, truck-roll and capital expenditure.

Equinix’s Network Edge enables companies to deploy virtual networking services in real time from multiple vendors, including Cisco, CloudGenix, Fortinet, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Silver Peak (recently acquired by Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company), Versa Networks, and VMware.
With Equinix Fabric integration, Network Edge customers can also interconnect their virtual edge devices with cloud and network providers located in distributed global markets, extending their reach to potentially thousands of new business partners around the world.
