BreadTalk Group expanded their existing partnership with IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl, to further improve the Singapore-grown brand’s infrastructure and scalability.

This partnership will see the deployment of a single point of IT infrastructure control for BreadTalk Group by using AWS cloud to streamline the running of diverse applications across business areas, built on various cloud platforms and on-premise environments.

BreadTalk started in 2000 as an innovative and forward-thinking bakery, has since grown rapidly into an award-winning multi-brand food and beverage company with global footprints in bakery, restaurant and food atrium spaces.

Today, the group operates close to 700 outlets in 16 markets, including countries such as Greater China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and India.

Partners like Kyndryl and AWS are vital in supporting the company’s IT modernisation journey and global expansion.

The partnership will enable the company to upgrade its IT architecture in an era of intense change, where the food and beverages sector is gearing up for transformation to meet new and evolving digital and sustainability ambitions globally.

In close collaboration with Kyndryl, BreadTalk Group recently migrated its workloads to AWS cloud and took its first steps towards transforming mission-critical systems to a modern and flexible cloud environment.

“As we modernise our IT infrastructure with Kyndryl’s strategic guidance coupled with AWS’ leading technologies, we are confident that this strategic investment will be able to create meaningful value for the Group and for our customers and employees,” said Lim Eng Thai, VP of IT at BreadTalk.

Since 2021, Kyndryl has continuously strived to enhance BreadTalk Group’s processes and build an efficient data management system to manage its workflow. The two firms have worked together to adopt managed services for business-critical processes while formulating strategies to modernise BreadTalk Group’s data infrastructure.

This modernised cloud strategy, combined with Kyndryl’s advanced expertise in identifying the right tech stack for BreadTalk, will lay the foundation for a resilient and optimal solution that will improve workforce efficiency, enhance security measures, and enable better operational control for the company.

“With our collaborative efforts, we are confident that BreadTalk Group will remain at the forefront of an increasingly competitive business landscape,” said Andrew Lim, managing director of Kyndryl ASEAN.
