Union Gas Holdings has embarked on a major IT modernization initiative by deploying cutting-edge solutions from Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).
This strategic move ensures always-on operations to support the group’s role as a provider of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), compressed natural gas (CNG), and diesel to homes and businesses across Singapore.
With operations spanning the full LPG value chain, from production and liquefaction to storage, transportation, and distribution, Union Gas Holdings required a robust and reliable IT backbone capable of supporting mission-critical workloads around the clock.
The firm’s legacy infrastructure, nearing end-of-life, prompted the group to refresh its data center in partnership with Lenovo to ensure seamless business continuity and future scalability.
After a detailed assessment with Lenovo, Union Gas Holdings deployed new Lenovo ThinkSystem servers for production and backup workloads, alongside a Lenovo ThinkSystem storage array powered by high-performance solid-state drives. The new setup delivers greater reliability and performance, enabling Union Gas Holdings to meet the growing demands of its business with agility.
The company also enhanced its support experience by adopting Lenovo Premier Support for Data Centers, which guarantees 24/7 technical support and a four-hour onsite response, as well as the Keep Your Drive (KYD) service for improved data security compliance.
With simplified case resolution and next-business-day repairs, Union Gas Holdings now benefits from a single point of contact for both Lenovo and third-party software support, including VMware, Microsoft, and Veeam.
Lenovo’s infrastructure and customer service have consistently exceeded expectations: “Lenovo’s servers have become the cornerstone of our operations. Their robust architecture and high performance enable us to handle demanding workloads effortlessly,” said Stanley Wong, head of IT at Union Gas Holdings.
