TIBCO Software in partnership with the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) plan to launch the TIBCO Data Analytics Lab, to be located on site at the university, to teach students how to use connected intelligence insights for better business decisions in the banking sector.

TIBCO works with numerous universities across Asia, equipping students with the relevant skillsets to address the growing need for data analyst professionals.

This collaboration will support the BAV students by providing practice-based training to understand data analytics, as well as providing them with the foundational skills necessary to support Vietnam’s digital transformation initiatives.

“The banking industry in Vietnam is transforming rapidly (as) banks are realising the need to be digital to cater to the large population of young smartphone users and high consumer growth,” said Erich Gerber, SVO for EMEA and APJ at TIBCO. “It is crucial we collaborate with educational institutions, such as BAV, to leverage TIBCO’s expertise and innovative solutions in providing a relevant curriculum for students.”

The TIBCO Data Analytics Lab will also enhance the development of students’ data capabilities to address critical manpower shortages. Students will work with TIBCO solutions, including TIBCO Spotfire, to ensure that they are equipped with the competencies and skillsets required to meet industry needs in application and solution innovation.

Additionally, the lab will focus on technologies that feature real-life scenarios and give students a first-hand view on how industries leverage data in real time to make informed decisions that drive positive business impact.

“With this collaboration that focuses on in-depth banking solutions, such as fraud detection, anti-money laundering, and credit scoring, we believe students will be prepared with the right skillsets needed to be employed in our nation’s digital banking era,” said Phan Thanh Duc, dean, MIS Faculty.

BAV aims to have up to 200 students train at the TIBCO Data Analytics Lab per year in various courses, such as Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence or Data Mining.
