ST Logistics partners with Lenovo to push Industry 5.0 in Singapore

Lenovo Singapore announced a strategic partnership with integrated logistics solution provider, ST Logistics, to deploy automation and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across ST Logistics’ warehouses to unlock new levels of innovation and sustainability. 

This partnership support’s Singapore’s policy for manufacturing companies to transition to Industry 5.0 technologies that emphasise human-centricity in human-intelligent machine interactions.

Through this partnership, Lenovo will provide hardware, software, and services to support ST Logistics in its digital transformation journey. This includes the Warehouse Execution System, which helps automatically identify the quickest and safest routes within warehouses to efficiently transport goods for delivery and significantly reduce order fulfilment times.  

AI algorithms, powered by Lenovo’s computing solutions like ThinkSystem, will also be incorporated to the hardware to optimise goods storage, prioritising items ready for immediate shipping for easier accessibility.

“Through meetings and onsite visits, Lenovo gained a clear understanding of our goals and delivered more than hardware and software,” said Lance Ong, deputy general manager of operations, homeland security at ST Logistics. 

As the second largest contributor to Singapore’s GDP, the manufacturing sector plays a pivotal role in helping the nation strengthen its economic resilience and foster talent growth. 

Aligned with the Singapore Economy 2030 vision, which emphasises trade, enterprise, manufacturing and services, this partnership between Lenovo and ST Logistics will foster stronger cooperation regionally to create a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive supply chain ecosystem.

Lenovo and ST Logistics will also be working together to upskill the workforce in operating smart warehouse solutions. 

Both companies are committed to championing the nation’s advancement towards Industry 5.0, which emphasises the importance of collaboration between humans and machines.
