“Our employees, as always, are integral to our business, and we strive to provide a world-class experience working with a multinational company,” said Roselaini Faiz, group chief HR officer at Sime Darby.

Partnering closely with Workday’s Professional Services team, Sime Darby Berhad was able to optimise resources and resolve challenges, including different language needs, processes, regulations, and requirements in diverse markets.

This planned strategic expansion has allowed for a unified global HR strategy whilst delivering on business outcomes, such as adopting functionality aligned to business needs and increasing self-sufficiency, laying the foundation for future deployment to other global markets.

In 2022, Sime Darby implemented Workday HCM in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Solomon Islands, and Papua New Guinea. These solutions deliver a complete and easily accessible overview of employee data and transactions.

Sime Darby is on a journey to streamline over 100 processes and various systems, enhancing the employee experience and facilitating collaboration, benefiting approximately 30,000 employees across various divisions and levels.

“Talent is the currency of a company’s success. Having a holistic, real-time view of its workforce on a unified platform will help enable companies to make more agile decisions, optimise resources, better engage employees, and future-proof their operations to seize new opportunities in a rapidly evolving world,” said Pannie Sia, general manager, ASEAN at Workday.

By consolidating people data in a single system, Sime Darby Berhad has redefined its approach to people management, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to employee growth and organisational excellence.
