Indonesia’s largest private hospital network, PT Siloam International Hospitals is leading a national digital transformation through a combination of advanced technologies, modern infrastructure, and data-driven innovation.

Siloam Hospitals is transforming how care is delivered, giving doctors more time with patients, reducing administrative burdens for nurses, and improving access to quality healthcare for millions of Indonesians.

Cloud services, including those from Amazon Web Services (AWS), have played a key role in supporting this journey.

From the frontlines of emergency rooms to the backend of hospital operations, Siloam is modernizing its IT systems, building intelligent applications, and improving efficiencies that empower healthcare professionals to focus on what matters most: patient care.

With a network of 41 hospitals, Siloam is setting the benchmark for how digital innovation can create real, system-wide impact across Indonesia’s healthcare landscape.

Siloam has migrated its mission-critical workloads, including hospital information systems, electronic medical records, billing platforms, and the MySiloam digital app, to AWS cloud. This move has standardized operations, enabled real-time data access, improved system resilience, and created a foundation for AI innovation at scale.

With this robust infrastructure, Siloam has already deployed two impactful AI-powered solutions.

One is the auto-summarization of medical records. This assists doctors by generating concise, structured notes from clinical interactions, improving documentation efficiency and accuracy.

The other is AI for inventory management, which leverages AI to automate data capture in inventory processes for improved efficiency.

These applications reflect Siloam’s broader vision to responsibly integrate AI into healthcare operations. Looking ahead, the organization is exploring additional opportunities in areas such as operational forecasting, patient engagement, and clinical decision support—always with the intent to improve service quality and system performance.

“Digital transformation is not just about systems, it’s about impact,” said Caroline Riady, CEO of Siloam Hospitals Group. “With AWS, we are reimagining how healthcare works in Indonesia. We’re giving time back to our doctors, clarity to our decisions, and better outcomes for our patients. This is what modern healthcare should look like.”

Beyond AI, Siloam’s modernization is supported by AWS services that relate to serverless backend automation; centralized, compliant data protection; and rapid, cost-efficient business continuity across its hospital network.

By decommissioning legacy infrastructure and consolidating onto AWS Cloud, Siloam has also aligned its operations with long-term sustainability goals, lowering energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions, and optimizing IT investments.

“At AWS, our priority is helping organizations like Siloam Hospitals harness the power of the cloud and generative AI to modernize operations, drive innovation, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve,” said Anthony Amni, country manager of AWS Indonesia.
