KL-Kepong Rubber Products picks Epicor ERP to jack up productivity

KL-Kepong Rubber Products (KLKRP), which is based in Malaysia, has chosen Epicor Software’s global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP to integrate their systems and automate their business processes for efficiency and growth.

KLKRP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur Kepong an manufactures latex rubber household and industrial gloves.

The growing demand for personal protective equipment (PPE), especially during the COVID-19 crisis, highlighted the need to accelerate adoption of an integrated digital platform for the company’s system and business processes. As a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME), most of KLKRP systems and data were manually processed using multiple applications and stored in spreadsheets.

To meet their clients’ increasing requirements, KLKRP needed a solution that bridged their data and integrated their processes quickly. KLKRP considered Epicor as the optimal partner to help with their integration and automation efforts

“As part of our continuous effort to optimise and support our operational processes to better serve our clients, the ERP upgrade is timely and part of KLK’s digital transformation journey towards embracing the Industry 4.0 revolution,” said Jarrod Quah, director of KLKRP. “We believe with ERP, we will be able to reduce legacy systems and improve cycle times hence increase our productivity and efficiency.

Quah added that their target is to connect physical with digital, allowing for better collaboration and the ability to leverage real-time and accurate data to boost productivity, improve processes and drive growth.

As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in a price-competitive market, KLKRP understands the importance of continuously progressing with innovations, data and information exchange in the industry. Through the use of internationally recognised software solutions like Epicor ERP, KLKRP expects to be able to manage critical data such as inventory, manpower and equipment, efficiency, and productivity will be significantly improved.

“During the ‘New Now’ capabilities like these will ensure KLKRP is able to maximise its resources, remain resilient, and boost process efficiency to stay competitive in the market and empowered for future growth,” Vincent Tang, regional VP for Asia at Epicor Software.
