Kallang Alive Sport Management (KASM) has embarked on a precinct-wide rollout of a high-density Wi-Fi 7 network.
This introduction of Wi-Fi 7 at the Singapore Sports Hub, integrated sports, entertainment, and lifestyle hub in Kallang, Singapore, will provide patrons with robust, high-performance wireless internet access across the precinct.
Additionally, greater real-time collaborations, hyper-personalised digital services, and richer, more immersive experiences will be possible with the connectivity that this cutting-edge network enhancement brings.
The enhancement will address the growing demand for high-density, low-latency wireless connectivity, especially during large-scale events. To be able to meet this demand is crucial as Singapore continues to attract international sport, entertainment, and lifestyle events and welcomes fans from around the world to the Singapore Sports Hub.
“This new Wi-Fi network is an important infrastructure investment that will lay a strong foundation for our digital transformation at the Singapore Sports Hub. With this infrastructure, we are enabling unparalleled connectivity to drive cutting-edge, immersive, and personalised digital experiences for all,” said Quek Swee Kuan, CEO of KASM.
The implementation of this high-speed, next generation public Wi-Fi is led by M1 as the network system integrator with Cisco as the technology solution provider.
Manjot Singh Mann, CEO of M1, said that beyond deployment, M1’s role as a consultative systems integrator will ensure a strong and scalable foundation of next-generation Wi-Fi 7 technologies.
KASM will deploy emerging technologies to enhance visitor and fan experiences with Cisco’s modular architecture and scalable Wi-Fi 7 solution, Cisco Wireless CW9179F.
This is the industry’s first enterprise-grade, Wi-Fi 7 certified high-density access point, designed specifically for large public venues. Every connection is secured by AI-native device segmentation, threat prevention, and advanced security, ensuring fans can use Wi-Fi securely.
The Cisco Wi-Fi 7 access points leverage intelligence and automation across the network to make the promise of AgenticOps a reality, a new paradigm for modern IT operations.
Furthermore, the access points can be seamlessly integrated with Cisco Spaces, enabling Cisco and KASM to explore the provision of insights into space utilisation, visitor behaviour metrics, crowd flow, and operational patterns to improve crowd management, support efficient staffing and optimize facility management.
“We believe the future of live events will be defined by seamless, AI-powered, secure connectivity. With Cisco’s Wi-Fi 7 technology, we are setting a new benchmark for secure, high-performance networks that power immersive fan experiences and help scale operations – even in the most demanding environments,” said Tay Bee Kheng, president of Cisco ASEAN.
The implementation of Wi-Fi 7 across all venues and precinct spaces at the Sports Hub will be phased and is expected to be completed by the first half of 2026.
