Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) is collaborating with Workday to transform the commercial real estate giant’s HR processes globally using Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).
JLL is a global professional services firm that specialises in real estate and investment management and has offices globally, including in key markets in Asia Pacific such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
As JLL continues to grow its presence globally, the company needs a technology partner that could keep it up to speed with emerging and transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
Added to this, JLL’s distributed 100,000-strong workforce was proving to be an increasing challenge for the HR function to manage efficiently, with multiple disparate systems generating vast amounts of people data that had to be sieved through.
With Workday Illuminate, the next generation of Workday AI built on the world’s largest and cleanest HR and finance dataset, JLL was able to achieve synergies between diverse systems and processes.
Ajay Pimpalshende, director HR Technology, JLL, said that managing people data across our workforce was previously a tedious process, especially as they were juggling more than 10 enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems at the same time.
“We were looking for one unified platform where we could bring all our HR processes together and harness meaningful insights for our leaders to manage their teams more effectively,” he said.
“With Workday, we have access to a single source of truth and can simplify all our HR processes and workflows across compensation planning, learning, and management, giving us a tremendous boost in operational efficiency,” he added.
Further, as a configurable and scalable solution, the Workday platform can be tailored to meet the unique requirements of organisations.
With Workday Extend, JLL was able to rapidly create custom AI-enabled apps leveraging its low-code or even no-code functionality. One example is the “Easy HR” app that JLL developed, allowing employees to generate reports and receive precise output in the matter of seconds.
A key benefit of implementing Workday has been the transformation in data visibility across JLL. The Workday platform provides a single, unified view of the entire workforce, allowing leaders to easily access and analyse data from multiple sources.
Whether it is gaining insights into global hiring trends or drilling down to the career plan of an individual employee in Singapore, Workday enables leaders with the information they need to make strategic decisions.
This granular level of access is crucial not just for efficiency, but also for ensuring responsible use of data, especially as AI plays a larger role in HR.
“As AI innovation continues to rapidly advance, JLL is determined to maintain data transparency as it adopts AI. Workday’s focus on responsible AI also helps ensure clear transparency on data usage,” added Pimpalshende.
